About 2 weeks ago, I just found out that my "drugs" picture was being used for a facebook quiz application without credit anywhere in sight. A week later, I was told the same thing by a friend at a bar. When I had first heard about it I tried my best to find the creator of the page to notify him/her and tell them to remove the picture or cite credit. Well, it wouldn't have been so difficult if I hadn't deleted my account; so I activated it again, and found a name and email. I emailed this guy explaining what had happened, and telling him I was going to consider legal action if something doesn't happen. The guy gave me the name/profile of the girl who had created the quiz and he told me that it's a very "popular" quiz. I emailed her, once again, explaining the situation and all she did was send me a message back with a link. No sorry or any kind of apologetic message. Just a link to a credit page (she also didn't give credit to 4 other artist's photos she had used).

You know, copyright infringement is a serious issue, and I'm really surprised that people are able to get away with so much without giving credit to the artist. We work so hard and express ourselves, and then people just think they can jack our shit without sending a single request for permission. What kind of world do we live in? I mean, I've seen plenty of my photos on blogs and feeds. Sometimes I don't always agree to be a part of a blog that's called "flickr babes" or "hotsexybabes," but at least they give me credit, and notify me when I've been added (that way I can ask them to take it down).

Now, I don't want my picture being represented for some stupid facebook quiz, and it's almost kind of embarrassing finding this information out from people I don't even know, and people that I do know without having any knowledge of it. I really feel cheated, and this is not the first time this has happened. It's such a crappy feeling, and it is absolutely appalling that living in a world where plagiarism is highly frowned upon, people are still lazy enough to not give credit where credit is due.

Please, don't be like these people. Respect your fellow artists, and fellow human beings.
